The Registry of Adaptation Practitioners is a curated directory of vetted adaptation service providers designed to connect climate adaptation service providers and communities who need support with adaptation. The Registry helps users identify practitioners whose expertise aligns with their needs, while offering service providers visibility, credibility, and an opportunity to showcase their organization and its skills.

The Benefits of Joining

1. Access to funding from this Initiative: Only adaptation service provider organizations approved for the Registry will be eligible to partner with U.S. communities on a CSCI grant.

2. Opportunities beyond this Initiative: Organizations listed in the Registry can be found by community leaders who are actively seeking adaptation assistance, increasing your chances of connecting with meaningful projects that make a real-world impact.

3. Showcase your organization: The Registry enables practitioner organizations to showcase their expertise, skills, and experience, enhancing an organization’s visibility and connects it with meaningful projects that make a real-world impact.

Eligibility Requirements

The Registry is open to all organizations that provide climate adaptation services to communities and free to join. To ensure the quality and integrity of the Registry, applicant organizations must meet the following criteria: 

  • Applications must be on behalf of an organization
    Applications should be submitted on behalf of nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, academic institutions, consulting firms, or sole proprietorships that offer adaptation services.
  • Demonstrated experience
    Organizations must have at least three years of professional experience providing adaptation services, and must submit 2-3 project examples demonstrating those services and the quality of their work.
  • Terms and Conditions
    Applicants must commit to upholding professional standards and the Registry Terms and Conditions

Application & Review Process

To be accepted into the Registry, an organization’s application is evaluated to ensure that it possesses the depth of expertise and skill necessary to provide effective, equitable, and sustainable adaptation services to communities, and that its staff adhere to best practices in the field.

  • Submit application
    Practitioner organizations complete the online form, detailing their qualifications, experience, and areas of specialization.
  • Expert review
    Our panel of seasoned adaptation experts assesses each application against criteria for acceptance.
  • Notification and listing
    Applicants are notified of the final decision within two months. Once approved, the organization will be published in the Registry.

The Registry was developed through a collaboration among three partners in the CSCI – EcoAdapt, Climate Resilience Fund, and Geos Institute – working together with UNC Asheville’s National Environmental Modeling and Analysis Center (NEMAC).
